We are pretty excited for “The Great Gatsby” especially for the fashion. And whole strolling through the internet streets we found the first official images form the movie.

We previously dissected the looks from the movie here, but we now have more info about what inspired these stylin 1920s looks. Leonardo Di Cpario and costars Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton were outfitted by Brooks Brothers in authentic re-creations of Twenties wardrobes. Robert Redford was dressed by Ralph Lauren in the original 1974 version.

As the official men’s clothier to the film, Brooks Brothers worked closely with Academy Award-winning costume and production designer Catherine Martin, to produce more than 500 day and evening ensembles — some 1,700 pieces, including neckwear, accessories and shoes — for the cast and extras.

For the menswear, Martin and Brooks Brothers researched the outfits popular during that time and create designs that blend the textured patterns and fabrics that defined the Roaring Twenties with the storytelling needs of the film.

The trailer opens up with a group of perfectly-costumed revelers partying it up and drinking champagne while their car speeds down a bridge into Mahattan to one of our favorite tunes -Kanye West and Jay-Z’s ‘No Church in the Wild’, which sets the tone for the trailer’s lavish party scenes and even better wardrobe.

This trailer is a visual feast that assures us we’re in for a breathtaking blend of 20s decadence with a modern twist. DiCaprio looks incredibly dapper, and seems to be perpetually clad in a cream colored suit. The rest of the cast is just as well-dressed.

Best bit of the trailer is when there are some tailored shirts flying like birds off a balcony, and Carey Mulligan, as Daisy Buchanan, says “You always look so cool. The man in the cool beautiful shirts,” — to which we can only nod — and then you see Tobey Maguire’s retro, shiny, inimitable hair, and suspenders, and killer satin bow ties, tied perfectly.

Are you as excited as us for Christmas, when this film will be released?
