On Friday 17th May 2013 at Cavendish Square Cape Town, CSquared invited its guests, celebrity supporters and certain lucky fans to attend the first public screening of The Great Gatsby. This was in the spirit of appreciating the iconic menswear showcased in Baz Luhrmann’s reworked classic and the launch of CSquared’s The Great Gatsby inspired story from its latest Autumn Winter 2013 Collection in stores now. 

The stylin’ and jovial crowd arrived dressed in 20’s theme and were greeted with Peroni refreshments and got to mingle with fashion literati, the CSquared team and other sartorially gifted guests.

The evening started with the crowd snapping photos, mingling and eyeing who what wear.

As the evening progressed, the event suffered from a temporary bout of  organisational blues due to the over-whelming demand of the film screening, and Ster-Kinekor over-booking the theatre with the public. The cinema’s lack of coordination & support naturally caused seating issues and a delay to the show.

Nothing like some pre-show drama to get the audience riled up and in the mood for a prohibition-era film!! **

Nonetheless, after guests adjusted their seating and settled in, they were treated to a visual feast of wonder, fashion, excess, glamor and heart-wrenching romance played out between hollywood ‘s best pulse-raising talents.
